2024 Wrap-Up
My Year In Review
This last year has been great for me professionally. Although I have taken a break from blogging, I have accomplished a lot and I’m looking forward to 2025!
During my pen tests this year, I was able to have a lot of firsts. I had some new routes I was able to explore, including routes that are much more complex than I would have been able to do in the past. I was able to explore a new-to-me directory service and gain administrative access to OpenText NetIQ eDirectory (previously Micro Focus eDirectory (previously Novell eDirectory)). New post-exploitation findings included access to SCADA systems and PayPal tokens for customer accounts. Plus I was able to achieve the certificate I’ve wanted since college - the OSCP - on my first try!
I’m extremely happy with the progress I’ve made this year and look forward to what’s to come in 2025. I expect to go to my first big convention, which is on my professional bucket-list. In the past I’ve been to lots of local events, but always wanted to get to one of the bigger gatherings. In 2025 I am hoping to make it to Wild-West Hackin Fest in South Dakota. I’ve heard great things about it and will be sure to make a post with my thoughts once I’ve gone. I’m also exploring some vulnerability research options as well as digging more into tool development over the next 12 months.
Look for more updates in 2025 as things progress!
